Chris Cain Performance at Gilly's Print E-mail

Chris Cain presented one of the most "locked in" performances the night of August 29th at Gilly’s!

Chris, along with Dave Mathews on keyboards, Steven Evens on Bass, and Tyler Young on drums, opened and elevated so many emotional musical levels that we found ourselves being taken on momentary musical excursions that covered the bases from Fats and Jellyroll and Roy Byrd and Pete Johnson and Ray Charles and George Gershwin and Peter Chatmon, and that was just on piano!!!

Norton's Extends The Red Carpet To The DBS Print E-mail

Fred and Sandy were fantastic hosts to a wide range of talented musicians Sunday night for the June edition of the DBS “Blue Sunday” Blues Jam. Hosts Doug Hart Band took the stage around 7pm to a crowd quite ready to hear some blues! By the time the first jammers took the stage Doug and the boys had everyone fired up and ready to go. It was good to meet and hear Merchandise Chairman, John Wright’s, brother, Jim, on guitar and vocals! Quite a treat, and it’s great that he became a member of the DBS! We’ll get to see more of this great talent.

The vast stage area of The Springs Bar & Grill was stuffed full of instrument cases and furniture, but all the rest of the copious space was filled with talent.  Springs owner, Tammy Jackson, and her staff worked hard to make everyone feel welcome: the food was great and the beer ice cold … add a heaping helping of blues and you have a roaring good time!!! Special thanks to Rick Bailey and his Slowhand band for hosting the event … fantastic job!
